Namibia Author: Jeremiah Allen |
Namibia has been described as the last frontier, a wild and rough country, exposed to the elements like no other southern African country. Sandwiched between two of the world’s oldest deserts, the Namib and Kalahari, the landscapes are weathered, desolate, and exposed to some of the harshest conditions on the face of our planet. From the rolling hills of Kaokoland, to the Skeleton Coast and the misty cold blanket of the South Atlantic, to the diamond rich area of Sperrgebeit, Namibia is as diverse and contrasting as their national anthem proclaims. About the Author |
Jeremiah AllenJeremiah spent over two years living with the Uukwaluudhi Owambo clan, in a large homestead, in northern Namibia. His idea of a luxurious life is bathing in basins under the stars, sharing drinks, and eating unsanitary meals. His idea of a comfortable life is being the seventh person in a taxi made to fit five, a plastic chair, and a tree that provides shade. As the Owambo’s say “oshili nawa” and to Jeremiah it’s all good. |
