About the Book
In Making Peace with the World photojournalist Richard Sitler introduces us to the wide range of Americans, of different races, ages and backgrounds, that continue to heed President Kennedy’s call to “ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country” by joining the Peace Corps. His camera and passport in hand, Richard delved into the daily lives of 32 such Peace Corps Volunteers serving in 22 countries across the globe. His collection of vivid photographs tells the story of Peace Corps and its Volunteers, fifty years after conception.
